From Ages Ago
~Patrick Ryan

As the night falls,
Flickering candles cast an orange hue in and out,
The house illuminated by a thousand steady beacons,
Before the moon had retired,
and the sun promoted,
A family pacing in pajamas,
Waiting,
wondering if all the stories were true,
Gathered around a green giant far from home,
Determined eyes seek out,
The heaviest surprise with out the slightest of touches,
Only to find a rock,
From ages ago,
Merry Christmas Tiny Tim.

Ha! Great poem. I like how you make small references to things by describing them. Like the green giant.
