"The harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph."
It is great to climb out of a hole triumphantly after falling. In my seventh grade year at Fenn, we lost the New England Junior Prep School tournament, or NEJPS for short. But in my eight grade year, we won the NEJPS tournament with a strong showing in the last game against our rival, Fessy. We won the last game with goal differential of 8 goals, it was a great victory. In the regular season, we played Fessy twice. We had lost both time, by the same score, 11-5. Last year as eighth graders, we had a solid defense, a great attack line, and amazing midfielders. We went into the NEJPS Lacrosse tournament, this time at the Fay School, a little nervous. I knew that we had a chance, but it would be difficult. This was the second time that I had been to the tournament, the first when I was a seventh grader. We had lost that year in the final against hillside. But this year would be different. If we played well in the regular season, we would need to play even better in the tournament to beat the team that we lost to earlier in the spring. In the regular season, we played Fessy twice. We had lost both time, by the same score, 11-5. We had played Hillside twice as well and we lost to them once, and beat them once. We had never played one of the the teams there, so we didn't know what to expect. We one every game but one, which we tied. In the final tether was only one goal scored by Fessy, it was their goalie, while he was playing middie. It was a great tournament. Both years that I have gone to this tournament, I have had so much fun. It was been an amazing experience on the varsity lacrosse team these past two year and I am desperately looking forward to the next. I had a great time winning the NEJPS Lacrosse tournament, I cannot wait for it this year.
