“Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future.”
~John F. Kennedy
Change is what makes us who were are because without it, we would all be the same--just blank canvases without an artist to shape its destiny. Destiny is what will can be, but it can be change by important events in our lifetimes. Destiny is also who we were, because of the choices and chances we took. This past year, during late winter and early spring, I was Faced with the loss of my tutor, friend, coach. Joe Lopresti, he was like a grandfather to me. I went to our meeting place every day when we were supposed to meet, and for two weeks, he wasn't there. I was very worried about Mr. Lo. I was struggling with math without him. I later found out what had happened to him. He had a stroke, and was making a slow recovery. We are not sure if Mr. Lo will be coming back this year or not. But it was a major change in my life where I didn't have a choice in the matter. Everyone has changed, From maturing into a strong young man or woman, to changing schools as a young, foolish, and child-minded 4th grader. This year all of us Fenn boys are faced with on of the biggest decisions of our life, leaving Fenn and continuing on to our respective high schools. For some, school like Andover, Middlesex, Groton, and for others, they want to be with their friends from their towns, so they go to the public high school. This upcoming decision is one of the first that we will have to making in our lives, like getting into colleges, or getting jobs, making major life decision that changes our lives. I used to hate the idea of change, but now I embrace it. Because it gives us experience, and you can only get better from what has happened.
