Drowning in Inches

“It happens to everyone as they grow up. You find out who you are and what you want, and then you realize that people you've known forever don't see things the way you do. So you keep the wonderful memories, but find yourself moving on.”
~Nicholas Sparks

Where you stand is a reflection of where you sit. Searching for the right high school is like a dog perfecting his bed before he lies down, it just has to feel right. I have lost many days, but I won't lose any friends in this process.

We'll go different places, but we'll always have the same home that is Fenn. This daugntinh High school procces is finally over, and everyone knows were they'll be in 6 months. That is often very different places, but oddly enough, at one school out of the seven kids who were accepted, six have decided to attend next fall. With almost every one going to far off schools, it can be very possible that we sadly forget our friends for Fenn. It is my goal to make sure that I don't forget the amazing friends and people that call Fenn home.

It would be a waste of years if you waste the relationships you made at Fenn.

Fessenden 52 - 35 Fenn

Earlier today, (Wednesday February 11th) Fenn VBall played our enemy, Fessy. We knew it was going to be a tough game, and we were proven correct. The score at half was 30-15, our largest deceit at half this year. It was a tough loss after winning the basketball tournament this Saturday, the first time in seven years. Fessy had a few great athletes, one of which could dunk. It was quite scary. The JV team all let out "ohs" in awe and shock when they saw the 6'6" kid dunk. It was a tough lost after a momentum-filled weekend of basketball.

WE DID IT!!!! The Pat's won the Super Bowl by four points this past Sunday. The only way that you couldn't have known about this four-peat, is if you were living under a rock for the past few days. Tom Brady, despite the 2 interceptions that he threw, he won the MVP. This year, the MVP was awarded with A Chevy Colorado, but Brady decided to give the truck the Malcom Butler, the rookie safety who picked off Wilson on the goal line to seal the game for the Pats. It was a really good game that went down to the wire, but we came out on top.

Another snow day?  There have been wild speculations on whether or not we will have a snow tomorrow, the Monday after the Super Bowl. It's projected that we'll get close to a foot of snow, but I personally think that there is no way that we could have another snow day after the three feet of light, fluffy snow that caused us to miss school for two days last week. I wouldn't be against having a snow day, but I just don't think that we'll miss yet another day of school.

Over these glorious snow days, I read the first four chapters of the American whailing Classic, Moby Dick. So far it has been about a young man who is bored of life on land and longs for a life of adventure and excitement out on the sea. It has been a really good first few chapters, and there were a lot of words that I had to define. I have enjoyed reading Moby Dick so far, and I look forward to the other 131 chapters.

Ahh... the relaxation of shoveling 3 feet of snow (no joke). There was a lot of snow to shovel today, and a lot of ice underneath. But, it was still a great day. A little HW, a little resting, a little video games. For the first time, I had a productive snowday. It was nice to have two days off. If netflix had a time watched counter, mine might have doubled over these two glorious snowdays.

If You Forget Me by Pablo Neruda {W.W. Fenn}

If You Forget Me

I want you to know
one thing.

You know how this is:
if I look
at the crystal moon, at the red branch
of the slow autumn at my window,
if I touch
near the fire
the impalpable ash
or the wrinkled body of the log,
everything carries me to you,
as if everything that exists,
aromas, light, metals,
were little boats
that sail
toward those isles of yours that wait for me.

Well, now,
if little by little you stop loving me
I shall stop loving you little by little.

If suddenly
you forget me
do not look for me,
for I shall already have forgotten you.

If you think it long and mad,
the wind of banners
that passes through my life,
and you decide
to leave me at the shore
of the heart where I have roots,
remember
that on that day,
at that hour,
I shall lift my arms
and my roots will set off
to seek another land.

But
if each day,
each hour,
you feel that you are destined for me
with implacable sweetness,
if each day a flower
climbs up to your lips to seek me,
ah my love, ah my own,
in me all that fire is repeated,
in me nothing is extinguished or forgotten,
my love feeds on your love, beloved,
and as long as you live it will be in your arms
without leaving mine.

Some new AV equipment for Fitz

1/22/2015

Recently, Fitz had ordered some new A/V gear for senior project. So Willie Swift and I spent the last 15 minutes of class and the first 15 minutes of lunch attempting to set up all the new toys. In the large box, there were about 12 fluorescent lights, three cloth screens (One green, one white, one black), several new tripods, and soft boxes for the lights, and a really cool piece of equipment that can sync two recording microphone into one audio file. This is commonly a set up that well-known youtubers use, green screen so that they can just have their face seen, great lighting and one or two high-quality Mics. The next upgrade it would be some nice 4K cameras that produce amazing video. But that would set the school back about $1000 per camera, but there definitely worth it. I'm really excited to start using new equipment and can't wait to the next senior project.
